Chrysler Group LLC halted production at the Toledo, Ohio, plant that builds the Jeep Wrangler on Thursday due to a parts shortage after storms that struck Mexico hampered shipments, a spokeswoman said.
Chrysler is watching the situation with parts shipments and has not yet decided whether production at the plant can resume on Friday, spokeswoman Shawn Morgan said.
"We have an ample supply of Wranglers," Morgan said.
Other Chrysler plants are closed for a regularly scheduled two-week summer shutdown and were not affected, she said. She declined to disclose what parts shipments were affected.
