City of Taiyuan aims to limit total number of automobiles to 1.1m units

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai January 6) - In order to combat automobile pollution, the city of Taiyuan in Shanxi has announced that it will control the number of automobiles on its streets within 1.1 million vehicles. This is the first time the city has announced such a restriction on automobiles.

According to statistics, there are already over one million vehicles on Taiyuan’s streets. The city has announced initiatives to get rid of unsafe and excessively old vehicles. The city will build on existing regulations to limit pollution and traffic congestion.
