Gasgoo Munich- On September 14, Dongfeng Motor's 10th Tech Innovation Week and inaugural User Life Festival kicked off in Wuhan under the theme "Dongfeng Rises, Smartly Painting New Life." Running concurrently, the event unveiled three major strategies—the "Sky Pure Zero Carbon" plan, the "Embodied Intelligence Vehicle Full-Domain Protection" plan, and the "Sky Horizon Sailing" plan—while officially launching the group’s user service brand, "Dongfeng Promise."
The signal from this launch is clear: in the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, Dongfeng Motor is integrating zero-carbon transition, intelligent safety, and global expansion into a single strategic framework for systematic advancement.
Three Major Plans: From "Breakthrough Points" to "Systematic Layout"
The three newly released plans span three critical dimensions—energy, safety, and globalization. Their shared characteristic is a shift away from isolated technologies or individual products toward systematic deployment across the entire industrial chain.

Anchored by a "1331" framework, the "Sky Pure Zero Carbon" plan sets a goal of aggregating over 10 million charging facilities with ecosystem partners to achieve an annual collaborative carbon reduction of more than 1 million tons.
"The resonance of three major evolutions—society, users, and industry—is the original intent behind Dongfeng's 'Sky Pure Zero Carbon' plan," said Feng Changjun, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary of Dongfeng Motor.
Viewed through the framework, user charging convenience, industrial ecosystem aggregation, and social decarbonization goals are placed within the same system. Essentially, this explores integrating corporate low-carbon transition with energy network construction and user service experience. Currently, China's "dual carbon" policy is shifting from controlling single-product emissions to building a lifecycle carbon management system, and Dongfeng's plan undoubtedly echoes this policy direction.
Regarding the "Embodied Intelligence Vehicle Full-Domain Protection" plan, You Zheng, Vice General Manager and Standing Member of the Party Committee, noted: "Under the wave of intelligence, automotive safety is upgrading from single-point protection to a multi-dimensional, collaborative full-domain security paradigm. Dongfeng Motor will build a tangible, perceptible, and reliable full-domain safety solution."
Centered on the value propositions of "peace of mind, home, travel, and return," the plan anchors a "Six Zeros" vision: zero casualties, zero fires, zero hazards, zero accidents, zero leaks, and zero losses. It constructs a "1+6+4" full-domain safety technology system—comprising one embodied intelligence technology foundation, six major safety technology fields, and four industrial collaborative ecosystems.

The "Sky Horizon Sailing" plan sets more specific quantitative targets: by 2030, Dongfeng Motor will invest a cumulative 50 billion yuan in overseas markets, launch more than 50 vehicle models, build 10 large-scale overseas production bases and five overseas R&D centers, and achieve an overseas sales target of 1.5 million units.
"'Sky Horizon Sailing' will reshape Dongfeng's globalization path, bringing our smart and green mobility services to global customers and putting 'New Car, New Dongfeng' into action through concrete steps," said Zhou Feng, Vice General Manager and Standing Member of the Party Committee.
The plan's "125" layout clarifies that passenger vehicles will target Europe and the Americas, while commercial vehicles will deepen their presence in the Americas and Central-North Asia. It also covers five strategic pivot regions: Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North-Central Africa, and Australia-New Zealand.
The "Sky Horizon Sailing" plan establishes specific quantitative targets: aiming for 2030, Dongfeng Motor will invest a total of 50 billion yuan in overseas markets, roll out over 50 models, establish 10 large-scale overseas production bases and five R&D centers, and realize 1.5 million in overseas sales.
The "Sky Horizon Sailing" plan outlines even more specific quantitative goals: by 2030, Dongfeng Motor will pour 50 billion yuan into overseas markets, introduce over 50 models, construct 10 large-scale overseas production bases and five R&D centers, and hit 1.5 million in overseas sales. In the first half of 2026, Dongfeng's overseas exports jumped 97% year-on-year, with its overseas marketing network reaching 1,600 outlets across more than 150 countries and regions. Given this growth trajectory, the long-term target of 1.5 million units reflects the rhythm of Dongfeng's overseas business shifting from scale expansion to systematic deep cultivation.
Tech Foundation and Service Loop: The Dual Pillars of Strategic Execution
If the three major plans paint the strategic blueprint, then the display of technological achievements and the construction of a user service system constitute the two paths for turning that blueprint into actual competitiveness.
On the technology front, Dongfeng showcased core achievements covering key links from powertrains to electronic-electrical architectures, including Quantum Architecture 4.0, 12C supercharging cells, Mach Power, and solid-state batteries.

In the solid-state battery sector, a 0.2GWh pilot line has been completed. Dongfeng's self-developed 350Wh/kg hybrid solid-liquid battery is scheduled for mass production and vehicle installation in the fourth quarter of 2026. The goal for 2027 is to deliver 50,000 units of models equipped with self-developed solid-state batteries and launch pilot testing for fast-charging solid-state batteries. Dongfeng completed winter testing for its 350Wh/kg solid-state battery installation in January 2026.
Regarding Mach Power, its 1.5T hybrid-specific engine achieved a maximum effective thermal efficiency of 48.09%, earning the "Energy Efficiency Star" certification from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC). It is the first hybrid gasoline engine in the industry to break the 48% thermal efficiency barrier. The value of these technological achievements lies not only in their parameters but also in providing verifiable engineering support for the implementation of the three major plans.
On the user service front, the launch of the "Dongfeng Promise" brand is equally noteworthy. Centered on "commitment, trust, agreement, and value," its mechanism design includes establishing a cross-brand direct user channel. Leveraging a base of over 64 million existing users, it creates a VOC (Voice of the Customer) collection system, allowing cross-brand user demands to flow directly into the corporate decision-making process.

"Dongfeng Motor focuses on safe, smart, and green mobility needs, continuously unlocking new experiences with smart products, and has cumulatively earned the trust and recognition of over 64 million users," said Yang Qing, Chairman and Party Secretary of Dongfeng Motor. This user scale provides a realistic foundation for the "Dongfeng Promise" service commitment and constitutes the underlying support for Dongfeng's extension from product delivery to full lifecycle service.
Conclusion:
From strategic release to technical verification, and finally to the institutional implementation of user services, Dongfeng Motor presented a relatively complete logic of advancement at this Tech Week.
Whether the three major plans can be fulfilled on schedule, whether technological achievements can translate into perceptible product competitiveness, and whether the global layout can advance steadily in a complex and volatile international market—these remain questions for time and the market to test. What is certain, however, is that at the outset of the 15th Five-Year Plan, this state-owned enterprise with 57 years of automotive heritage is responding to the multiple challenges of the industry's profound transformation with a clearer strategic framework and a more pragmatic path to execution.
