Gasgoo.com (Shanghai January 20) - Former BYD President of Sales Xia Zhibing has been officially picked up by Zotye Holding Group, where he will assume the role of company CEO, nddaily.com reported today. Mr. Xia will be responsible for all of Zotye's future business plans, the board of directors confirmed.
Both Mr. Xia (pictured) and Zotye confirmed the reports. Mr. Xia left BYD last August, where he complained about being exhausted. His leaving the manufacturer came at a time when BYD was making large employee cuts in its sales division. Mr. Xia joined BYD upon graduating from Peking University, where he worked as head of finance, director of sales and customer services, deputy head of domestic sales businesses, and other roles. During his time at the manufacturer, BYD saw its sales grow drastically.
Zotye Holding Group was established in 2003, and has since expanded into the fields of automobiles, motors, plastics, sheet metals and transmission systems.
