Europe remains a cornerstone of GAC's global strategy, given its status as a highly competitive and technologically advanced automotive market. In recent years, the company has accelerated its localization efforts under its "Europe plan," establishing a design hub in Milan led by local teams to tailor vehicles to regional preferences. On the manufacturing side, GAC has partnered with Magna International to produce vehicles in Austria, where both the AION V and AION UT have entered mass production. These efforts are complemented by a growing service network, forming an integrated ecosystem spanning European design, manufacturing, and customer support.
Ma Haiyang, president of GAC INTERNATIONAL's European regional headquarters, described Europe as a central arena for the company's global ambitions, noting that the AION UT launch builds on the earlier introduction of the AION V. He emphasized that GAC will continue to prioritize localized design, production, and services to deliver smarter, safer, and more sustainable mobility solutions, while deepening collaboration with European partners in the transition toward electrification.
Positioned around the theme "Expect More," the AION UT targets urban commuting needs in Europe, with upgrades spanning design, driving range, interior space, intelligent features, safety, comfort, and overall value. Developed by GAC's Milan design center, the model blends Italian artistic influences with contemporary urban styling while addressing the realities of European city driving. Its compact and agile proportions are designed for narrow streets and frequent parking, while the interior adopts a minimalist aesthetic and incorporates sustainable materials, aligning with local expectations for both quality and environmental responsibility.
