Geely Launches Full-Domain AI 2.0 at CES 2026, Targets L3 and L4 Deployment Within the Year

At CES 2026, Geely Auto officially introduced its Full-Domain AI 2.0 technology system, built around a newly unveiled World Action Model (WAM) designed to enable AI systems to form human-like world models for perception, decision-making, and action. The launch also featured Eva, a hyper-anthropomorphic emotional AI agent aimed at advancing human–machine interaction. Geely's smart driving system is now globally branded as G-ASD (Geely Afari Smart Driving), developed jointly with Qianli Intelligent Driving using a Smart AI Agent architecture and powered by StepFun's general-purpose foundation model. The system is trained on hundreds of billions of parameters, drawing from assisted-driving data from 8.5 million vehicles, over 10 billion kilometers of driving mileage, and extensive accident and safety datasets. Hardware configurations range from the H9 version with dual NVIDIA Thor chips delivering 1,400 TOPS and five LiDAR sensors, to the H7 setup combining one Thor and two Orin chips with 31 sensors. Already deployed in models under Zeekr and Lynk & Co, Geely plans—pending regulatory approval—to roll out highway L3 autonomous driving and low-speed L4 automated parking in 2026, while also initiating Robotaxi commercial operations. In 2025, Geely Group reported global sales exceeding 3.02 million vehicles, with new energy vehicles accounting for nearly 56% of total sales.

Apollo Go Secures Dubai's First Fully Driverless Test Permit and Establishes Overseas Operations Base

Apollo Go, Baidu's autonomous mobility platform, has received Dubai's first and currently only permit for fully driverless road testing, marking the highest level of regulatory approval for autonomous driving in the city. Granted on January 6, 2026 by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the permit clears the way for fully driverless commercial operations as early as the first quarter of 2026. Apollo Go plans to expand its fully driverless fleet in Dubai to more than 1,000 vehicles. On the same day, the company also launched its first overseas integrated autonomous operations base in Dubai, a facility designed to support large-scale driverless fleets through integrated vehicle operations, maintenance, system upgrades, safety management, and personnel training. The project aligns with Dubai's "2030 Smart City Strategy," which aims for 25% of all trips to be autonomous. RTA Director General Mattar Al Tayer personally witnessed the first fully driverless test vehicle on public roads, while Baidu Vice President Wang Yunpeng highlighted Dubai's infrastructure, regulatory environment, and openness to innovation as key enablers. Apollo Go currently operates in 22 cities worldwide and has provided more than 17 million autonomous ride services to date.
