Fast Tech: On August 13, a patent for a retractable vehicle logo mechanism from Xiaomi EV was revealed. Unlike traditional single-badge setups, the patent employs a dual-logo switching system that can alternate between two emblems based on the scenario: one is a premium gold or titanium-plated badge designed for a ceremonial feel, while the other is a standard material badge suited for daily commuting. The lightweight mechanism can be mounted on the hood, bumpers, or tailgate, and supports quick detachment to significantly simplify maintenance and replacement. While the structural design ensures operational stability, the publication of this patent does not guarantee mass production; official confirmation regarding its application in Xiaomi vehicles is pending.

Gasgoo: On August 13, Bosch announced a major breakthrough in its intelligent driving control business, as its fourth-generation Multi-Purpose Camera (MPC4) secured large-scale project awards, accelerating its mass production rollout. To date, MPC4 orders cover over 40 vehicle models and more than 200 domestic and international projects, with total orders reaching the tens of millions—marking a steady rise in both market reach and industrial scale.
Cailian Press: On August 13, Joyson Electronics announced that its subsidiary, Anhui Joyson Automotive Safety Systems, plans to introduce strategic investors Xingyin Financial Asset Investment and China Post Financial Asset Investment, which will inject 500 million yuan and 1 billion yuan respectively. Following the investment, Xingyin and China Post will hold approximately 2.1459% and 4.2918% stakes in Anhui Joyson Safety, which will remain a Joyson subsidiary. The capital will primarily be used to repay shareholder loans from the parent company, allowing Joyson to settle its own existing bank debts—a move aimed at optimizing capital structure, reducing liabilities, and bringing the overall asset-liability ratio below 60%.
Cailian Press: On August 13, Jifeng announced that its subsidiary, Jifeng Seating (Fuzhou), has secured a contract for complete vehicle seat assemblies from a leading automaker, and will develop and produce the seats for the client. The project is slated for mass production in June 2027, with a four-year lifecycle and an expected total value of 2.12 billion yuan. While the award will not significantly impact this year's performance, it is set to drive future revenue growth.
Gasgoo: Zhenbao Technology, a domestic listed firm in the semiconductor components sector, has confirmed plans to build an R&D and manufacturing base in Wuhan Optics Valley. The project involves a total investment of 520 million yuan and is expected to take three years to complete.
Gasgoo: Recently, Zhongke Guiji signed a strategic partnership agreement with Fula New Material. Under the deal, Zhongke Guiji will purchase 200,000 high-performance tactile sensors to support the mass production of 40,000 industrial-grade dexterous hands. The roadmap targets a stable annual production capacity of nearly 30,000 units by the end of 2026, scaling to over 100,000 units by the end of 2027 to establish a full-scale delivery system for batch deployment across industrial, service, and special sectors.

Cailian Press: On August 13, data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed that retail passenger vehicle sales from August 1 to 9 reached 317,000 units, down 22% year-on-year and 3% from the previous month. Year-to-date retail sales stand at 10.49 million, a 20% decline. Wholesale volumes for the same period totaled 276,000 units, a 24% annual drop but a 2% monthly increase, bringing cumulative wholesale volume to 15.09 million units, down 5% year-on-year.
Cailian Press: On August 13, the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI) released results from its 21st study (with data collected as of December 31, 2025), covering metrics such as the parts-to-whole ratio coefficient and maintenance burden index. Results showed that the latest "Parts-to-Whole Ratio 100 Index" for internal combustion engine vehicles stood at 390.77%, a slight dip of 0.3 percentage points. The index for new energy vehicles came in at 311.42%, down 0.82 points. The "Maintenance Burden 100 Index" for NEVs—closely tied to insurance payouts—fell 13.92% to 23.81, a drop of 3.85 points. Falling battery prices were the primary driver behind the decline in the NEV maintenance burden index.
Gasgoo: Data from Benchmark Mineral Intelligence released on August 13 shows that global EV demand rose for the fifth consecutive month in July, driven by strength in Europe while North America faltered. Sales of battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles reached 1.85 million units, a 9% annual increase, bringing year-to-date volume to 11.5 million. European demand was buoyed by subsidies, whereas the U.S. market felt the impact of expiring federal tax credits. July sales in Europe jumped 33% to 450,000 units, lifting year-to-date growth to 28%. BMI noted that major European markets are maintaining high growth, with many reinstating subsidy programs over the past 18 months. France, Germany, and the UK saw sales surge 81%, 46%, and 43%, respectively. Conversely, North American sales slumped 27% to 140,000 units amid the end of EV tax credits.
