
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 26) - Hebei-based manufacturer Great Wall Motors exported 37,931 vehicles from January to May of this year, Automotive News China reported today. The figure is 42 percent than the total amount exported in the first five months of 2011.
According to the latest figures, exports now make up 17 percent of all of Great Wall's sales. The manufacturer expects one-sixth of all its sales this year to be of exported vehicles. Great Wall was China's second largest automobile exporter last year. Its 83,000 exports were only exceeded by Anhui-based Chery.
Great Wall's overall sales in the first five months of the year totaled 230,000 vehicles, representing year-on-year growth of 19 percent. The manufacturer's goal is to sell 600,000 vehicles this year, 113,000 vehicles more than 2011.
