Great Wall's new C50 hits Chinese market

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 8) - Great Wall's first turbocharged model, the C50, has made its official Chinese market debut, chexun.com reported today. The C50 carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of 78,800 yuan ($12,474), slightly lower than previously announced prices. Buyers are also eligible to receive a 3,000 yuan ($474.89) subsidy from the government. The C50 is backed by a four year and 150,000 km warrantee.

The new C50 (pictured) comes with several upgrades to Great Wall's typical assortment of accessories, including polyurethane seats, parking sensors, cruise control, a genuine leather steering wheel and electronic seat controls. The subcompact's interior sports a two-tone black/beige color scheme.

The C50 measures 4.65 m long, 1.77 m wide and 1.45 m tall, with a wheelbase of 2.7 m. It is powered by a 1.5 L turbocharged engine with a maximum output of 98 kW and able to produce up to 188 Nm of torque. It boasts a fuel consumption rate of just 6.3 L per 100 km.
