Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Honda Motor has announced it will replace its long-used brand emblem, adopting a newly designed "H" badge. The update is slated to start in 2027, debuting on the front and rear of the brand’s upcoming battery-electric and hybrid models. It will then roll out across all vehicles and business lines.

According to Honda, the new emblem evokes "two outstretched hands," underscoring the company’s intent to strengthen customer service. The brand refresh directly echoes Honda’s shift to electrification. The mark made its public debut at CES 2024 alongside the 0 Series flagship sedan and the Space-Hub concept.

In May, Honda outlined a product plan to launch 13 all-new hybrid models between 2027 and 2030. Built on a modular platform that commonizes about 60% of core components — from the engine bay to the rear floor — the vehicles shed 90 kg and improve fuel economy by 10%. The approach enables a diversified lineup spanning sedans, SUVs and MPVs. Judging from the 0 Series sedan, the 0 Series SUV and the Alpha concept, the electrification push will be reflected directly in styling.

Honda also confirmed that the Prelude coupe and the Super-N urban EV, both headed for the UK market later this year, will be among the last to carry the classic badge. It signals the phased retirement of the old mark. Overall, the emblem change is seen as a visual signpost of Honda’s electrification transition, with adoption to proceed in lockstep with that strategy.
