Gasgoo Munich- Pateo, a partner in the Horizon Robotics ecosystem, has secured a designation from a leading domestic new-energy vehicle manufacturer to supply a high-end AI cockpit solution. The system, built on the Horizon Starry® chip, will power the automaker's new vehicle platform. The project marks the industry's first designation for a high-end AI cockpit powered entirely by a domestic cabin-driving-integrated chip.

This designation signals an accelerated push for the Horizon Starry® chip into the high-end sector. Horizon Robotics officially launched the chip in April—China's first cabin-driving fusion "intelligent vehicle agent" chip—and named iCAR as its global launch partner. With the Starry chip now entering the development pipeline of another top automaker, the industry is signaling its confidence in the technology's maturity and production readiness.
The Horizon Starry® chip features a single-chip, integrated design aimed at dismantling the hardware barrier between traditional smart driving and cockpit systems. It enables computing pooling, unified systems, and seamless data exchange. On the value front, the chip is said to reduce in-vehicle hardware footprint by roughly 50% and cut comprehensive hardware costs by 1,500 to 4,000 yuan per vehicle. Meanwhile, the development and delivery cycle for intelligent vehicle functions can be slashed from 18 months to just 8.
On the intelligence front, the Starry® chip supports advanced functions like multimodal perception fusion, efficient inference for on-board large language models, and full-scenario human-vehicle interaction. It delivers unified computing power for both the cockpit and smart driving systems. Pateo brings full-stack capabilities spanning software, hardware, chips, and cloud. Having completed full-link system integration based on domestic chips, the two partners aim to build a next-generation interaction system powered by physical AI and domain-wide intelligent agents.
This project designation validates the collaborative model of "chip foundation plus full-stack integration." Horizon Robotics says it will join forces with Pateo to accelerate R&D and mass production preparations. The partnership aims to deepen cooperation in AI cockpits and cabin-driving integration, speeding up the large-scale deployment of intelligent vehicle agents that fuse both domains.
