HSAE's international expansion began in 2019 with the establishment of a Japan branch, successfully "going global" to establish regular client connections and solidify market cooperation. The unveiling of this technical center marks a critical transition from "going global" to "deepening its presence"—a strategic upgrade from a representative office to a full localized entity integrating R&D, business, and quality assurance, deeply embedding the company within the Japanese automotive industry.
Looking ahead, HSAE plans to use the Japan center as a strategic pivot, blending Chinese technological innovation with Japanese precision engineering to build a globally competitive service system and international brand influence, ultimately achieving the goal of "moving up the value chain."
Located in Shin-Yokohama, the center provides strong support for high-frequency, in-depth technical exchanges. Organizationally, the first phase includes departments for development, R&D project management, and R&D quality management. Backed by the headquarters' technical center, this creates an efficient "China-Japan dual-core collaboration" system—combining local front-end response with headquarters backend empowerment—to balance service depth and technical breadth, effectively supporting global operations.
As a deep implementation of the "Local for Local" principle, the Japan center will advance three major localization strategies. First is R&D localization: by establishing an overseas center, it will recruit local talent and conduct joint development with Japanese automakers, universities, and laboratories for adaptive design and frontier technology exploration. Second is talent localization: building a team of senior engineers proficient in Japanese culture, language, and the industrial environment, while implementing cross-cultural management. Third is operational and compliance localization: deeply integrating into the Japanese automotive ecosystem, building a local after-sales network and user service system, and strictly adhering to local data storage and processing requirements to meet Japan's stringent quality standards.
As a key move in its global R&D layout, the HSAE Japan Technical Center will form a synergistic network with domestic centers in Shenzhen, Yangzhou, Wuhan, and Chengdu, as well as the overseas center in Berlin, Germany. Currently, HSAE has built a global technical team covering 6 cities across 2 continents. This collaborative system—"consolidating the foundation at home while achieving breakthroughs overseas"—provides robust technical support for continued global operations.
