Gasgoo.com（Shanghai Dec 1） Shanghai GM Wuling (short for SGMW) revealed Hongguang S1, Baojun 730 and Baojun 560 at Guanzghou Auto Show on November 20.
After overfulfilling the sales task in 2014, SGMW has set a higher target of two million units in 2015.
Data shows that the sales of SGMW totaled 1,805,850 units in 2014, with a year-on-year rise of 13%, overfullfilling targeted annual sales of 1.8 million units. In the past 12 years, SGMW, as a joint venture, had developed sustainably and steadily, gaining a rise by 12.3 times in sales.
The main reason that SGMW have achieved growth in sales for five consecutive years lies in that it can develop products based on customer demands according to insiders.
The sales of traditional mini van of middle—engine and rear—drive have decreased dramatically since 2010. Therefore, SGMW launches Rongguang V, new mini van of front engine and rear—drive, to meet the demands of customers.
Hongguang range has achieved largest monthly sales in China’s market for 25 consecutive months. The cumulative sales of Hongguang range have totaled 2.3 million units after launched five years ago. Huangguang S1 revealed at Guangzhou Auto Show is the third-generation model of this range.
Baojun 730 is three-row family car customized to better adapt to expanding family structure arising from newly implemented two-child policy. So far, the total sales of Baojun 730 have reached 368,000 units.
Baojun 560 is SUV for family use. Beyond expectations, Baojun 560 became one of top three in sales in SUV segment and was ranked second with sales of 30,226 units in October. Its total sales have reached 80,740 units by the end of October.
Data show that the total sales of new models of SGMW have reached 1,601,088 units with 871,095 units of passenger vehicles that account for 54% in the first ten months in 2015, indicating that passenger vehicle plays a more and more important role in driving the development of automakers.
Insiders believe that, with several models of passenger vehicles attracting lots of customers, it is hopeful that the annual target of two million units of this year can be met by SGMW.
