Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Jan. 6, JAC Group said Xiang Xingchu — party secretary, chairman and general manager of the group's holding company — recently led a team to Shenzhen. They met Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei and other executives. The two sides held wide-ranging talks on the shift toward intelligent vehicles, the progress of joint projects and future plans.

JAC and Huawei have co-developed MAEXTRO, a luxury intelligent connected EV brand positioned highest among Huawei's four initiatives. Its first model, the MAEXTRO S800, was unveiled on May 30, 2025, with prices ranging from RMB 708,000 to 1,018,000.
Positioned as a D+ segment flagship sedan, the S800 measures 5,480 mm × 2,000 mm × 1,542 mm with a 3,370 mm wheelbase. It offers six exclusive exterior colors, including Dawn Gold Black, Cloudscape Silver Purple and Soaring Ink White. Inside, it features innovative smart doors, an intelligent welcome light carpet, a Huawei immersive head-up display system, an intelligent variable starlight roof, and dual zero-gravity rear seats.
For driver assistance, the S800 debuts with HUAWEI ADS 4, whose full-fusion perception system employs 36 sensors. Power comes from HUAWEI DriveOne 800V high-voltage silicon-carbide motors, with the dual-motor setup rated at up to 390 kW and the tri-motor variant at up to 635 kW. The range-extended version delivers a combined range of 1,333 km, while the battery-electric model is rated at up to 702 km under CLTC.
Since launch, orders for the MAEXTRO S800 have climbed quickly. Firm orders topped 1,000 units within the first hour, reached 3,600 in seven days, passed 5,000 by day 19 and exceeded 8,000 within 50 days.
Looking ahead, JAC Group said it will further broaden its partnership with Huawei. It will deepen collaboration in vehicle intelligence and enterprise digitalization to drive high-quality growth in new-energy vehicles, adding momentum to China's push to build a strong auto industry.
