JAC have been producing small cars for the past three years as an extension of their successful MPV producing venture, JAC turned to making small cars due to the volatile nature of the Chinese MPV market which largely relies on business consumers to make purchases rather than families who prefer small cars due to the small size of the average Chinese family. JAC’s forthcoming car, the Yue Yue, is expected to take the 1.0L VVT engine (left) that JAC have developed themselves.
The Yue Yue was originally planned to use Harbin Dong An’s DAK10A 4 cylinder 1.0L engine which produced 50KW at 6000rpm and produced 95Nm at 4000rpm, exact stats of JAC’s 1.0L 3 cylinder VVT engine are not clear due to JAC being shy pending final testing results, but it is expected that the engine will be good for 51Kw of power and 88Nm of torque.
