Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 23) - JAC Motors announced yesterday that they will begin cooperating with famed Taiwanese electronic producer Foxconn Technology Group, Shanghai Securities News reported yesterday. The partnership will extend to the issues of new energy vehicle development, automobile electronics R&D and industrialization.
JAC Motors is reportedly putting a lot of effort in developing an electric vehicle program, with investments into technological research among the largest among domestic manufacturers. At the same time, the manufacturer is looking to increase its technical knowledge: something which Foxconn's experience in the field will be of great aid to.
According to the agreement signed between both companies, bilateral cooperation will focus primarily on the development of electric battery technology, as well as extending to the topics of traditional fuel-powered vehicle production, magnesium aluminium alloy weight optimization, R&D of interior LED screens and others. The partnership will last until April of 2013.
Rival manufacturer Chery Automobile has previously signed cooperation agreements with Foxconn, as well.
