China's car maker Jianghuai Automobile Co (JAC Motors) plans to open an assembly plant in Russia, Zhu Lyantszyun, head of JAC Motors' Shanghai department, said on Friday.
"In the next year or two, we will expand our presence on the Russian market through direct investment or a joint venture with Russian partners," Lyantszyun said.
"We consider producing cars in Russia a priority, not only because the Russian market is important, but also because cars built there will be sold to neighboring countries."
"Today we are also discussing and pondering possible production of vehicles in Russia using new fuel supply sources," he said.
