Gasgoo Munich- Xiaomi EV released January delivery figures on Feb 1, reporting single-month sales that topped 39,000 units. Later that evening, company founder Lei Jun hosted a livestream from the Yizhuang Laboratory located inside the Xiaomi EV factory.
Lei Jun noted that with the SU7 facelift imminent, the bulk of January's 39,000-unit-plus deliveries were actually YU7s. Factory lines are now shifting focus to prepare for the next-generation SU7. A limited number of YU7 display and inventory vehicles remain available for pickup before the Chinese New Year, and customers are invited to visit showrooms for a closer look.

Pre-launch R&D testing for the next-generation SU7 is now complete. Display units are set to roll out across seven cities—Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chengdu, and Wuhan—starting Feb 13. To give more consumers a chance to see the car up close, the first batch will debut in mall-based showrooms in those cities. Meanwhile, billboards for the new Xiaomi SU7 have already begun appearing at major airport terminals, including Beijing Capital T3, Shanghai Pudong, Chengdu Shuangliu and Tianfu, Hangzhou Xiaoshan, and Guangzhou Baiyun, effective Feb 1.
Lei Jun also highlighted the company's testing infrastructure, which includes over 100 proprietary labs across Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and Wuhan. The company is conducting trials in four extreme environments: Turpan for high heat, Heihe for extreme cold, the Kunlun Mountains for high altitude, and Hainan for heat and humidity. Additionally, Xiaomi utilizes two comprehensive vehicle proving grounds in Guangde (Anhui) and Yancheng (Jiangsu). The automaker's testing team now exceeds 800 staff.
Furthermore, Xiaomi EV's nationwide road testing has spanned more than 300 cities using a fleet of over 2,300 vehicles. These test cars have collectively logged more than 28 million kilometers—a figure encompassing data from all ongoing testing projects.
