Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Oct 13) Recently, sources said LeTV Internet Information & Technology Corp., a Chinese Internet company, will invest 1 billion dollars in Uber and become the biggest shareholder of Uber China. But LeTV promptly denied this news on the company’s official weibo homepage, saying Uber is respectable company, but the news about LeTV’s investment in Uber China is not true.

Meanwhile, the Internet company also said, LeTV has put a lot of efforts to complete the closed loop of an open automobiles eco-system, and car-sharing and socialization operation are just the way to do it.

Industry comments say that Uber and LeTV are both not new to the front pages, maybe this piece of news is just one of LeTV’s other attempts to hit the headline, if you consider the company’s history. But on the other hand, LeTV do want to build its brand with high-end products first and eventually introduce more mass-market products, so high-end car sharing companies like Uber may still among LeTV’s first choices when this Internet company want to build partnership with companies in car-sharing industry.
