XPeng G9L Begins European Pilot Production Ahead of Paris Motor Show Debut
XPeng Motors has announced that its next-generation AI flagship SUV, the G9L, has completed its first European pilot production run at Magna's plant in Graz, Austria. It is the fourth XPeng model to undergo local pilot production at the facility, following the G6, G9 and P7+.
The first European-spec G9L to roll off the pilot production line will make the 1,324-kilometer journey from Graz to Paris for its global debut at the Paris Motor Show, which opens on October 12. Along the way, the vehicle will undergo real-world validation of its driver-assistance system, charging performance and overall driving dynamics, helping verify the reliability of the European-spec model under actual road conditions.
BAIC Group Sales Top 1.167 Million in First Nine Months, Overseas Growth Stays in Double Digits for Nine Straight Months
BAIC Group recently released its sales figures for January through September. The group sold more than 1.167 million vehicles over the period, with both its own-brand and overseas businesses posting growth.
Its own brands sold nearly 100,000 vehicles in September, up 17.1% month on month. Sales for the first nine months exceeded 808,000 units, up 11.7% year on year, accounting for nearly 70% of the group's total.
Overseas sales topped 31,000 units in September, up 19.4% year on year. For January through September, cumulative overseas sales exceeded 274,000 units, up 27.2% year on year, marking nine consecutive months of double-digit growth.
UBTECH, FAW-Volkswagen Strike Strategic Partnership
UBTECH and FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. have recently entered into a strategic partnership. The two companies will jointly develop and test applications for embodied AI robots in logistics, while also setting up demonstration scenarios to support the deployment of humanoid robots in smart manufacturing and promote the adoption of related solutions.
Automotive production lines are gradually moving beyond standardized configurations as consumer demand for personalization continues to grow, putting greater demands on flexible manufacturing. With their high degree of autonomy and strong ability to generalize across tasks and environments, humanoid robots are playing an increasingly important role as industrial manufacturing shifts toward greater flexibility, unmanned operations and intelligence. They are seen as a promising technological solution to one of manufacturing's key challenges: enabling flexible production.
