Licensing of imported cars up 94.6% in Jan-May

Shanghai July 12 (Gasgoo.com) The data from China Trading Center for Automobile Import show that from January to May this year, the number of imported cars that got licensed increased 94.6% year on year to 243,797 units.

While in May alone, this figure was 51,793 units, had a Y/Y growth of 114.5%.

What is different from last year is that the imported models with a displacement volume below 3.0 liters have become the main driving force for the increase of the licensing.

In the first five months, the licensing of imported cars with 3.0L and below 3.0L engines surged 114.6% Y/Y while those above 3.0 L only had a Y/Y growth of 55.7%. The number of licensed sedans with a displacement volume below 3.0Lsoared 144.4%.
