Mercedes July sales rise 17% on China demand

Shanghai August 5 (Gasgoo.com) Germany's carmaker Daimler AG revealed to the media that its core brand Mercedes-Benz sold 97,700 units in July, up 17% year on year, driven by its record sales in China last month.

This sales volume tells that Mercedes-Benz maintained a two-figure growth in nine consecutive months. Mercedes-Benz' best sales record in China is 14,600 units.

Joachim Schmidt, who is in charge of Mercedes-Benz' marketing said that following Benz' excellent sales performance in H1, the company has a rapid sales growth in the second half of this year.

Joachim added that Mercedes-Benz aims to achieve a two-figure sales growth in its annual sales.

In Jan-July, sales of Mercedes-Benz grew 16% to 654,400 units.
