Gasgoo Munich- On June 10, The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the 408th batch of the "Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products Announcement." BYD's Fangchengbao brand filed for its new sedan series. The Fangchengbao S (sedan) and Fangchengbao S GT (shooting brake) were the standout models in this batch.
As Fangchengbao's first sedan lineup, the Fangchengbao S series marks the brand's third product line following the "Bao" off-road series and the "Ti" urban series. Positioned as a mid-to-large pure electric city car, it is slated to hit the market in the third quarter of 2026. The Fangchengbao S is a sedan measuring 5,060mm long, 1,967mm wide, and 1,483mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,960mm. The Fangchengbao S GT is the shooting brake variant, with a total length of 5,025mm.

Visually, both models feature a low-slung coupe profile with semi-hidden door handles and blackened taillights, emphasizing a sporty aesthetic. The S GT adds roof rails for extra utility and distinctiveness. On the powertrain front, the Fangchengbao S series offers rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options. The rear-drive single-motor version peaks at 245 kW or 300 kW, while the all-wheel drive variant combines a 190 kW front motor with a 300 kW rear motor. All models come equipped with LFP blade batteries and reach a top speed of 240 km/h.
Notably, the Fangchengbao S series marks the debut of BYD's DiSus-M magnetorheological suspension. Optional features include LiDAR, various wheel styles, and a tow hook, catering to diverse usage scenarios. Previously, the series appeared at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, where plans for three models—including the Fangchengbao SL—were unveiled. In this batch, however, only the S and S GT have completed filings.
