Gasgoo Munich- Nemak’s board has approved a succession plan for the chief executive officer role, the company announced on January 28.

Armando Tamez, who has spent 42 years with the company—including 13 as chief executive—will step down on March 31, 2026. The company described the move as a key step in its established executive succession process, underscoring its commitment to management continuity and long-term strategic growth.
Separately, the board has appointed Hervé Boyer as the new chief executive, effective April 1, 2026.
"Under Armando’s leadership, Nemak has made significant progress and laid a solid foundation for future growth, including a successful business transformation that incorporated structural and electrification components into our portfolio," said Álvaro Fernández, chairman of the Nemak board. "We express our sincere gratitude for his vision and outstanding contributions, which have markedly enhanced Nemak’s global reach and competitive standing. We are confident that Hervé Boyer possesses the experience and leadership required to guide Nemak into its next chapter."
Hervé Boyer holds an engineering degree from École Centrale de Nantes in France and has completed advanced management programs at Harvard Business School and INSEAD. He previously served as global chief operating officer and a member of the executive board at Nexteer. With over three decades of international experience in senior management and operational leadership within the automotive sector, Boyer brings deep expertise in global operations, sales, product line management, and value creation initiatives.
Nemak pledged to implement an orderly transition process, ensuring a smooth handover of the leadership team and the continuity of daily operations while honoring its commitments to customers, employees, and all stakeholders.
