Shanghai August 30 (Gasgoo.com) Renault will import its all-new Latitude sedan into the Chinese market next year, further increasing its market share in China's middle-class car segment, Beijing News reported Monday.
The new Latitude, which is developed by Renault in collaborations with Nissan and Samsung using a platform of Renault / Nissan D Platform, measures (LxWxH) 4887mm x 1832mm x 1483mm and has a wheelbase of 2760mm, much bigger than the existing Renault Laguna but quite similar to the locally produced Nissan Tiannai.
Nissan said that the new Latitude will be offered with a variety of features that place the emphasis "on innovation and travelling comfort". Different from the model launched in Russain which is available in two versions: one carries Nissan's VQ V6 engine-2.5L mated to a six-speed automatic and the other features a 2.4L four-cylinder engine coupled with a CVT, the model to be first introduced to China will carry a 2.5 liter V6 engine.
As a global model, the new Latitude, which Renault aims to launch in 50 world markets possibly including India as well, conveys a mature, steady and grand charisma, which should be well received in the Chinese market.
In addition, early sources said the French carmaker was planning to import totally five new models to China early next year which are Renault Laguna Clio, Wind, large Scenic, Small Scenic and Fluence.
