Battery swapping remains a core differentiator for NIO. Drivers can replace their batteries at a station in just minutes, drastically cutting down wait times. Beyond speed, the model supports flexible battery upgrades, allowing users to select different pack capacities based on their travel needs.
Those 4,012 swap stations cover major cities and highway networks, creating a safety net for both daily commutes and long-distance travel. As range anxiety and charging convenience remain top concerns for EV owners, battery swapping offers an alternative solution.
Beyond swapping, NIO is accelerating its charging rollout. Its 5,172 charging stations and 29,855 piles form a broad network that gives drivers more options. Notably, NIO opens this infrastructure to vehicles from other brands, sharing resources across the wider market.
The continued expansion of NIO’s power ecosystem aims to elevate the overall ownership experience. By combining swapping and charging, the company is building a more convenient and efficient network — one that brings the experience of driving an EV ever closer to the convenience of refueling a gas-powered car.
