Gasgoo Munich- On February 26, NIO announced that its chip subsidiary, Anhui Shenji Technology (GeniTech Co., Ltd., called "Shenji" for short), has finalized signing of its first external equity financing round. The deal will raise more than 2.2 billion yuan, valuing the company at close to 10 billion yuan after the investment.

Proceeds will be directed primarily toward advanced chip R&D and commercial expansion, reinforcing NIO's long-term push in autonomous driving and embodied intelligence technologies.
According to NIO, Shenji is the first Chinese company to both develop a 5-nanometer automotive-grade chip and bring it into large-scale commercial use. Its flagship processor, the Shenji NX9031, is positioned as delivering the computing power of four conventional chips in a single unit, placing it among the top domestic in-vehicle processors by performance. Since entering mass production in 2024, shipments have surpassed 150,000 sets, with the chip now installed across NIO brand's entire vehicle lineup as the backbone of its driver-assistance systems.
With fresh capital in place, Shenji plans to broaden its product portfolio. This includes the development of ultra-high-performance processors tailored for next-generation intelligent driving, alongside additional chips targeting adjacent application areas to diversify its offerings.
While early demand has largely come from within the NIO ecosystem, Shenji is now actively pursuing external customers. Its near-term focus spans emerging sectors such as embodied robotics and agent-based inference, as the company positions itself to deliver end-to-end chip and intelligent hardware solutions for a future shaped by artificial general intelligence.
