Nissan Motors has revealed the teaser images of its next generation Versa for the global market. Nissan also stated that the model will be initially sold in the US market only and did not reveal the finer details of the gen-next model. The next Versa is expected to arrive in the U.S. as a 2012 model. Like the current car, the new Versa will be assembled at Nissan's plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
Nissan looks to revamp the Versa with its more vocative styling language. The current model is described as 'mundane' or even as 'unattractive'. The revamp follows with current market trends to lend more styling to the compact and sub-compact class cars, with vehicles like the Ford Fiesta and Chevy Cruze proving economical cars don’t have to look cheap.
The model is rumoured to be showcased at the upcoming LA auto show next month. The car also carries the name Tiida and Latio in certain markets and is also available as a hatch. The B-segment contender is expected to be unveiled at the 8th China International Automobile Exhibition in December 2010.
