Reuters - Nissan Motor Co expects April output at its China unit to fall about 10 percent below target, hit by supply chain disruptions after the disaster in eastern Japan, the Nikkei business daily reported.
Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Co, a division of the Japanese automaker's joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group , will slash production by idling plants on weekends till mid-April, the daily said.
Overtime will continue on weekdays and the firm has not set a production schedule for beyond mid-month, the paper reported.
Dongfeng Nissan is having trouble procuring engine parts from the Hitachi Ltd , the Nikkei said.
