Gasgoo Munich-AGILINK dominated the opening day of the dexterous hand competition at the second World Humanoid Robot Games, winning three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals with its OmniHand. Notably, all three gold medals were achieved through fully autonomous operation: the company’s team swept the tweezers-bean sorting and block-building events, while a Wuhan University-AGIBOT joint team—also powered by OmniHand—won the powder weighing category.
The tweezers-bean event tested fine manipulation, requiring robots to grasp soybeans with a 5mm diameter. The task required a seamless workflow: identifying and pinpointing targets, then coordinating the robotic arm and dexterous hand for high-speed, continuous picking, transferring, and releasing. Any slight misalignment would cause the beans to fall.
AGILINK’s proprietary autonomous algorithm integrates visual perception, motion planning, and arm-hand control into a unified chain. This allows OmniHand to convert autonomous decisions into stable, precise hardware execution—effectively turning "seeing" into "grasping."

If the tweezers-bean event tested if a robot could "perform with precision," the block-building challenge examined if it could "think clearly."
In this event, the robot had to handle target recognition, determine position and orientation, and plan a continuous path from material retrieval to construction. It required real-time adjustments during execution to complete the structure.
The powder weighing event placed higher demands on salt spray resistance, reliability, and endurance. The Wuhan University-AGIBOT joint team, competing via AGIBOT’s AIMA program, used OmniHand. The team used the same unit throughout training, preliminaries, and finals without replacement or failure.
