Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 30) - According to an announcement made by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine today, Dongfeng Motor will recall 11,277 Nissan Teana sedans next month. The recall, which will begin on August 22, will target Teanas manufactured between late June 2005 and late April 2008.
The QR20 engines in the targeted Teanas (pictured) are suspected to have a flaw in which the soldering points of the crankshaft sensor chips may crack under high temperature. This may lead to uneven acceleration or the engine failing to function in certain situations, posing a potential safety risk.
Dongfeng Motor will inspect and repair the engines on all recalled vehicles free of charge. The joint venture will contact owners of affected vehicles to schedule appointments.
