India: Car sales lowest in 12 years, truck down 35%

The Times of India (New Delhi) - Economic slowdown, high interest rates and dearer fuel have punctured the momentum of the Indian car industry, with sales dropping 26% in February, the sharpest monthly decline in over 12 years. Commercial vehicle sales, a key barometer of economic health, fell 35% during the month, indicating that the worst may not be over yet.

Over 384000 VWs to be recalled in China due to DSG transmission issues

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 20) - Volkswagen China, FAW-VW and Shanghai VW, in accordance with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine's requests, will begin recalling DSG transmission-powered VW, Audi and Skoda models next month, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today. A total of 384,181 vehicles will be targeted by the recall, which will begin on April 2.
