Gasgoo Munich- Volvo Cars officially unveiled the refreshed EX30 on March 20, positioning the new model as a luxury pure-electric small SUV. The lineup includes four trim levels, with a limited-time promotional price ranging from 159,800 to 219,800 yuan.

While retaining the original design language and powertrain, the new model lowers the entry barrier significantly. It bolsters its value proposition in the segment by packing in a host of standard features.

The refreshed EX30 lineup comprises four variants: the RWD Plus, RWD Long Range Ultra, Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive Performance Ultra, and Cross Country Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive Performance Ultra. All trims come standard with 12 luxury features—including a panoramic roof, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, front parking sensors, a power tailgate, ambient lighting, power-adjustable front seats, wireless phone charging, a Harman Kardon sound system, and the Pilot Assist navigation aid. No options are required, ensuring even the base model is fully equipped.

Built on a dedicated electric platform, the EX30 delivers a maximum range of 590 kilometers under CLTC conditions. Fast charging is efficient, replenishing the battery from 10% to 80% in as little as 26 minutes. The chassis, tuned by Volvo's Nordic team, employs a front MacPherson and rear five-link suspension setup. With a turning radius of just 5.4 meters, the vehicle offers enhanced agility in complex urban driving conditions.

On the intelligent driving front, the EX30 comes standard with lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and Pilot Assist. The system emphasizes a "non-intrusive" human-machine interaction logic, with an interface designed around user habits to boost both operational efficiency and driving safety.

Targeting urban youth and small families, the refreshed EX30 aims to penetrate the fiercely competitive small electric SUV market with a "luxury entry" strategy. Compared to segment rivals, it holds a competitive edge in feature richness, brand recognition, and powertrain warranty policies. Volvo offers a three-year basic vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty on the powertrain, four years of complimentary data for the first owner, and three years of free roadside assistance—all of which help reduce ownership costs.

Volvo stated that the refreshed EX30 is not just an addition to its existing portfolio but a strategic move to strengthen its competitiveness in the mainstream market during its electric transition. With this launch, Volvo's electric lineup in China now spans multiple price brackets, from entry-level to high-end.
