Shanghai October 9 (Gasgoo.com) French carmaker Renault displayed at this year's Paris Auto Show its mid- and high-end commercial car, the Latitude, which will go on sale in Europe in early next year and likely enter the Chinese market in April 2011 under its new name "Weidu", Xinhua news reported Saturday.

Renault Latitude is based on the same architecture as the Samsung SM5, a mid-size car produced by the Korean manufacturer Renault Samsung Motors. Sharing Renault-Nissan's D platform with Nissan Teana, the Latitude measures (LxWxH) 4890mm x 1830mm x 1490mm.
Three versions of the Latitude will be available for sale in China, of which the model using a 2.0L gasoline engine makes 139hp while the model with a 2.5L gasoline engine delivers 177hp. The third model will come with a 3.5L gasoline engine.
The Latitude to be sold in overseas markets will feature the most powerful 173hp 2.0L dCi diesel engine as well as the 240hp V6 diesel engine.
Renault Latitude boasts elegant, racy looks and is equipped with bi- Xenon adaptive directional headlights, LED daytime running lights and the optional panoramic sunroof.
On top of that, the car employs a massaging driver's seat (with four modes selectable), triple-zone climate control, navigation system, a dual-mode air ionizer with double fragrance diffuser, etc..
