Renault, France's second-largest automaker, will recall 124 Laguna III vehicles in China from June 15 due to seat belt problems, China's quality watchdog said.
The recall affects some of its Laguna cars produced from November 8, 2006 to August 24, 2009, said a statement on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).
The defective seat belt may fail to restrain passengers properly in some extreme cases, the statement said.
The carmaker will check and replace the seat belts for free.
Owners can contact Renault on the hotline, 010-65618666 to extension 9 or contact AQSIQ by dialing 010-59799616 or 65537365.
