SAIC's Roewe 350 all-electric car unveiled

Shanghai November 11 (Gasgoo.com) SAIC Motor Corp unveiled its newly developed Roewe 350 all-electric car at the 25th World Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition held Nov. 5-9 in Shenzhen, the Beijing Times reported Thursday.

The top Chinese automaker said the Roewe 350 EV using its latest self-developed battery technology is still at the concept stage and expected to be put into mass-production at the end of 2012.

The A-Class Roewe 350 all-electric car has independent intellectual property rights and features llithium-iron phosphate battery system, high efficiency permanent magnet synchronous motor, electric power steering (EPS) systems and other key systems, reflecting the level of industrialization of the automaker's state-of-the-art all-electric sedans.

SAIC said earlier that it plans to mass-produce and deliver its Roewe E1 electric minicar to consumers in October 2012, but has not yet determined when to launch the A-Class electric sedan.
