The Schaeffler Group, the second biggest manufacturer and supplier of automobile roller bearings, plans to invest 200 million euros ($256.45 million) in China to set up two plants for the production of the rolling bearings, engines and transmission parts, according to Caijing.com.cn.

Hou Li, manager of the corporate department in the Herzogenaurach-based company, said it is looking for the locations in East China for the two new plants, and the construction will be completed by 2012.
Schaeffler started business in China in 1995; it has one R&D center in Shanghai and five plants which are running at full capacity.
