Seeds | Led by Zhejiang University Professor, Humanoid Robot Company Just Secured 450 Million Yuan in Financing

Edited by Betty From Gasgoo
Gasgoo Munich- Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Zhejiang Humanoid") has recently closed a 450 million yuan Pre-A funding round. The investor lineup features industrial capital from players like SUPCON, China Merchants Innovation and Technology, Lenovo Capital, Fengyuan Capital, and the Ningbo Industrial Internet Institute. Government-backed funds, including the Zhejiang Province Venture Capital Group, and Yuexiu Industrial Fund, also participated, alongside market-oriented funds like FG VENTURE.

Zhejiang Humanoid plans to channel the fresh capital into tackling core technologies, recruiting talent, scaling mass production, and expanding into multi-industry scenarios. With this round, the company has raised a total of 2.2 billion yuan over the past 18 months.

Established in December 2023 by a team led by Zhejiang University Professor Xiong Rong, alongside industry partners, Zhejiang Humanoid set a clear goal from the start: build practical robots capable of working and landing in diverse scenarios. Its core strategy revolves around building a technical moat focused on "generalizable precise manipulation capabilities." This means the robots must not only perform high-precision operations but also possess the intelligence to adapt quickly to different tasks.

On the technology front, Zhejiang Humanoid has firmly committed to the challenging path of developing full-size general-purpose humanoid robots, aiming to integrate them seamlessly into environments designed for humans using existing tools. To that end, the company has built the "Navigator NAVIAI" product family, iterating rapidly: from a prototype with basic capabilities to the NAVIAI-I2, China's first full-size, full-degree-of-freedom bipedal robot. The lineup also includes the NAVIAI-WA1, a wheeled-arm robot specializing in ultra-precise 0.03-millimeter operations, and the NAVIAI-I3, designed for walking across diverse terrains.

To ensure industrial-grade reliability, Zhejiang Humanoid insists on deep hardware-software co-development. On the hardware side, the robots are equipped with agile bodies boasting 41 degrees of freedom, supported by a foundation of proprietary high-performance joint control algorithms.

In software and intelligence, Zhejiang Humanoid has constructed a robotic "brain" system centered on "Visual Language Model (VLM) + Visual Language Action Model (VLA) + Visual Language Navigation Model (VLN)," covering interaction, manipulation, and navigation. The company has independently developed three core technology engines: a "Real2Sim2Real" closed loop for high-quality data generation to lower AI training costs; a knowledge-driven visual-tactile fusion perception-control model for skill generalization; and high-safety autonomous mobility for open environments. Together, these technologies underpin the robots' ability to learn and deploy quickly across different contexts.

Zhejiang Humanoid has made significant headway in both R&D and mass production deployment. Its robots have achieved a reliable assembly success rate exceeding 99.99% on industrial production lines for clients like Huawei. Other collaborative scenarios span automotive manufacturing, the process industry, textile equipment, power grid inspection, appliance quality control, and petrochemicals. The company has also begun exporting its domestic humanoid robots to international markets.
