Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Mar 31) – Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Hubei province has released related policy about approving the next generation C series engine project of Wuhan brand of Shanghai GM Auto. 1.0T engine will be manufactured in the factory of Shanghai GM Auto in Wuhan and its capacity will reach 300,000. The related principle of Shanghai GM Auto figure the developing tendency of engine miniaturization had been confirmed several years before.
In accordance with the policy, the 1.0T engine of Shanghai GM Auto is equipped with 3 cylinders and its power per liter reaches 82kw/L. It is reported the total investment amount of the project reaches 1.906 billion Yuan and 1.4T & 1.5L engines had been put into production in the factory of Shanghai GM Auto in Beisheng last year.
Besides GM Auto, Volkswagen, PSA and Kia begin to layout small-displacement engine project. Industry analysts figure the engine miniaturization will be the tendency and related policies released recently has also supported this point of view.
