Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 13) - In accordance with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine's requests, Shanghai GM has ordered a recall of 207,766 Buick Lacrosse sedans, xcar.com.cn reported earlier this week. The recall, which will begin on Saturday, will cover vehicles manufactured between early January 2006 and early September 2009.

The Lacrosse models (pictured) in question are being recalled due to a possible flaw with the flexible conduits in their brake assemblies. The conduits may clash with the rest of the assembly, which if not repaired may lead to brake fluid leaks. If a leak occurs, a warning light will turn on on the dashboard. In extreme situations the brake system may not properly function, potentially endangering the safety of the vehicle's occupants.

Shanghai GM will inspect brake assemblies in recalled vehicles and replace the flawed conduits in order to eliminate any safety problems. The joint venture will contact owners of affected vehicles via its dealerships to set up appointment times for repair. Concerned owners may also call the JV's customer service support line for more details.
