Segment-Beating Specs for a 60,000-Yuan Car
Visually, the new QQ3 features a closed front grille paired with rounded headlights on both sides, maintaining the series' signature approachable design.
The side profile is clean, equipped with trendy semi-hidden door handles, while black wheel arches add a touch of style. At the rear, rounded light clusters echo the design of the front fascia.
In terms of dimensions, the car measures 4,195 mm long, 1,811 mm wide, and 1,573 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm — approaching that of a compact sedan. This wheelbase, combined with 85% space utilization, delivers 977 mm of rear legroom and 985 mm of headroom, allowing passengers in the second row to cross their legs, according to the company. The trunk offers 375 liters of standard capacity, expandable to 1,450 liters with the rear seats folded.
There are 38 storage spaces throughout the vehicle, including a 70-liter smart electric front trunk with eight opening methods and a 35-liter drawer-style storage box under the rear seats. The car is also equipped with four 1/4-inch thread interfaces for device expansion.

Inside, the new model adopts a two-tone design with a youthful aesthetic. A 15.6-inch 2.5K ultra-clear central screen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and running the Carmind large model, enables voice control for multiple scenarios. The cabin also features a full digital instrument cluster, 256-color ambient lighting, and 50W wireless phone charging.
For seating, the front row offers suction-style ventilation and heating for both cushions and backrests. The steering wheel is heated, and the smart vanity mirror supports multi-level color temperature and brightness adjustment.
On the powertrain front, the new QQ3 uses a 10-in-1 high-speed electric drive system with a maximum motor output of 58 kW. It employs a rear-motor, rear-wheel-drive layout with a 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution. The chassis features front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension, with a turning radius of 5.2 meters and an official moose test speed of 76.5 km/h.
CLTC range stands at 310 km and 420 km, with a 30% to 80% fast-charging time of 16.5 minutes. The vehicle also supports 6.6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) power output for outdoor use.
In terms of intelligent features, the new QQ3 is equipped with the Falcon 500 driver assistance system, built on the Horizon J6E chip with 80 TOPS of computing power. The hardware setup includes 7 cameras, 3 radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors (7V3R12U), supporting highway NOA, automatic ramp entry and exit, and active lane changes. It also features automated parking in over 100 scenarios and 15 L2-level driver assistance functions.
From a Gasoline Era Icon to the Electric Age
The launch of the new QQ3 marks Chery's revival of a classic IP with 23 years of history. In 2003, the original Chery QQ entered the market with a price tag under 50,000 yuan. At the time, the domestic market was dominated by joint-venture models like the Jetta, Fukang, and Santana. Entry-level cars were typically priced above 100,000 yuan, making automobiles a luxury for most ordinary families.
The QQ broke this pattern with its affordable price and cute, rounded styling, selling over 50,000 units in its first year. Over the following decade, cumulative sales surpassed 1.54 million units, with exports to over 100 countries and regions, making it the perennial champion in China's micro-sedan segment.
The QQ's significance extends beyond sales figures. On a consumer level, it transformed car ownership from a privilege for the few into an accessible reality for ordinary families. For the brand, it was the core model that established Chery in its early days and one of the first Chinese brands to build a user community and IP culture, with initiatives like the "QQ Culture Festival" and "QQ Primary School" creating a vibrant owner ecosystem.
The QQ's return as an electric vehicle carries multiple strategic implications for Chery. In July 2025, Chery reorganized its internal structure, establishing an independent QQ division alongside brands like Exeed, Jetour, and iCAR. For 2026, Chery has set a sales target of 3.2 million vehicles, a 14% increase from 2025, with new energy vehicles serving as the primary growth driver.
As a national IP with a user base exceeding one million, the QQ is undoubtedly a powerful tool for reawakening market recognition and entering the new-energy small car segment.
However, the market environment facing this return is starkly different from two decades ago. In 2025, wholesale sales of A0-class electric sedans reached 1.6564 million units, a 57% year-on-year increase — a growth rate second only to C-class SUVs across all segments. On the policy front, the full exemption for new energy vehicle purchase tax will be adjusted to a 50% reduction starting in 2026, and trade-in subsidies have also been modified, impacting lower-priced A0-class models more noticeably.

Amid this market backdrop, the new QQ3 has outlined a clear path to break out. On one hand, the nostalgia effect of this classic IP generated a combined total of over 100,000 blind and pre-orders, proving high market anticipation for the QQ's return.
On the other hand, the QQ has moved from the 30,000 to 50,000 yuan micro-car segment in the gasoline era to the 60,000 to 80,000 yuan A0-class segment in the electric era. This upward shift in price band is not a blind price hike but is supported by segment-beating value, including "10 segment-exclusive and 13 segment-leading" features.
The new QQ3's hardcore product capabilities in space, handling, and intelligence give it a competitive edge against rivals like the Geely Xingyuan and BYD Seagull. Chery's goal to "build China's MINI and China's Smart" is not empty talk; it is grounded in tangible technical accumulation, such as its native EV platform, six-dimensional electric safety certification, and Falcon driver assistance system.
While maintaining its "happy gene," the new QQ3 brings luxury-level features to the mass-market car segment with a starting price under 60,000 yuan, positioning it to write its own legend in the era of electrification.
