Gasgoo Munich- The all-new Tank 300 launched on July 19, holding the line on its entry price at 199,800 yuan while adding a flagship Hi4-Z trim for 259,800 yuan. The five-model lineup now spans four powertrain options: gasoline, diesel, Hi4-T, and Hi4-Z.

Far more than a routine refresh, the new Tank 300 boasts 553 vehicle-wide optimizations, with over half of its components updated. Yet the classic boxy silhouette remains untouched. At the launch event, Tank Brand CEO Gu Yukun confirmed that the 300’s iconic design architecture is here to stay, with no major overhauls planned.
In his view, the industry’s rapid iteration cycles have led to homogenized designs. Locking in a classic look stabilizes market recognition, builds long-term user awareness, and extends the model’s lifecycle. "We won’t overhaul or discard the Tank 300’s classic styling for 20 years," Gu said. "We are committed to preserving this legacy."
Where do the 553 upgrades show up?
These 553 upgrades are targeted, systemic improvements focused on core user pain points. They address exterior details, interior craftsmanship, the smart cockpit, driver-assistance systems, powertrain, chassis, and modification potential—effectively closing the gaps in the previous model.
Visually, the new model retains core family cues like the boxy body, round headlights, and externally mounted spare tire, upgrading perceived quality solely through structural refinements.
The vehicle adopts a proven "long-wheelbase, long-cabin, short-hang" layout. By extending the wheelbase by 260mm, optimizing the engine bay, and shortening the front overhang, the proportions are rebalanced for better visual harmony and stability. A three-piece front bumper design lowers daily repair costs while accommodating popular modifications, striking a balance between practicality and expandability.

In terms of color, the new "Shining Yellow" paint has emerged as the market favorite, accounting for 62% of pre-orders—the highest of any trim. Company officials note that the paint was formulated with PPG over more than 60 rounds of tuning using imported high-end pigments, resulting in higher color purity and stability suited for diverse environments.
This data highlights the purchasing logic of today’s younger consumers: exterior design and visual appeal have become critical decision-making factors, standing alongside performance and specifications as a dual standard for evaluation.
Inside, the model undergoes standardized upgrades to assembly craftsmanship and human-machine interaction details. The damping on air vents, the resistance of physical buttons, stitching, and panel gaps have all been uniformly tuned. This significantly boosts assembly precision, addressing the common industry flaw of crude interiors in traditional off-road SUVs.

On the intelligence front, the Tank 300 is equipped with the Coffee OS 3.0 cockpit and Coffee Pilot 3.0 driving system. Higher trims feature a LiDAR and 27 sets of sensing hardware, supporting full-scenario, door-to-door NOA assisted driving—a rare high-end intelligent driving configuration in the 250,000-yuan off-road SUV class.
The powertrain and chassis represent the core upgrades of this revision. The new model completes its power matrix with four systems: 2.0T gasoline, 2.4T diesel, Hi4-T hardcore off-road hybrid, and Hi4-Z pan-off-road hybrid. This comprehensively covers scenarios ranging from city commuting and long-distance travel to extreme off-roading.

The hybrid versions feature a 2.0T dedicated hybrid engine combined with front and rear dual motors in a three-engine setup, differentiated by tuning and performance specs. The Hi4-Z version boasts a maximum combined power of 560kW and peak torque of 1,195N·m, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. With a CLTC pure electric range of 251km and a total range of 1,122km, its energy efficiency and performance metrics place it in the first tier of its class.
Additionally, the Tank 300 comes factory-equipped with 40 expansion interfaces, six independent power supplies, and a full IoT outdoor ecosystem. This supports lossless modification, outdoor power supply, and in-vehicle device expansion, lowering the barrier to customization and enhancing scenario versatility—helping push hardcore off-roading from professional circles into the mainstream.
The 300: The Backbone of the Tank Brand
The Tank 300 has long held a dominant position in its segment, relying on a foundation of nearly 600,000 users and accumulated reputation over five years.
At the launch event, numerous owners and car clubs from across the country participated. The Tank brand simultaneously released its new "My Tank, My Squad" initiative, signaling a shift from pure product sales to systematic user operations.

Compared to traditional automakers' marketing models, Tank has leveraged its massive owner base to foster spontaneous community activities, public rescue operations, and co-created road trips. This organic spread by end-users has built a differentiated market advantage distinct from competitors.
Before the Tank 300 arrived, the domestic off-road market above 200,000 yuan was long monopolized by joint ventures and imports, with domestic SUVs generally suffering from lagging intelligence, low specs, and limited versatility. The segment was small and slow-growing. Since its debut, the Tank 300 has quickly activated this niche with stable pricing, balanced product strength, and high expandability, driving up sales and attention for domestic off-road SUVs and reshaping the competitive landscape.

Within the Tank brand’s product matrix, the Tank 300 serves as the core workhorse for driving volume, expanding the market, accumulating users, and refining technology. It provides the user base and technical endorsement for the brand’s high-end models, acting as the central pillar for Tank’s scaled development.
Industry insiders believe that in this vertical segment, the Tank 300 ranks at the top in comprehensive product strength, value for money, and ownership volume. It maintains market share through solid product capability rather than excessive pricing or marketing packaging.
Competition in the 200,000-yuan-and-up off-road segment is intensifying, with rivals like the Fangchengbao Leopard 5, Ford Bronco, and BJ40 entering the fray. Yet the Tank 300 remains at the forefront of sales and popularity, thanks to its diverse powertrain matrix, mature user community, comprehensive modification ecosystem, and adaptability to all travel scenarios. This refresh—upgrading across the board without raising prices—is set to further boost the model's competitiveness and help it hold its ground.
