morningwhistle.21cbh.com - Toyota Motor Corp. is adjusting its strategies in China in the aftermath of anti-Japan protests.
The tile of Toyota China will be changed into China Toyota, in a further step to stress localization, Tian Congming, senior vice president, FAW Toyota Motor Sales Co., Ltd, said in an exclusive interview with China Enterprise News.
In addition, for the first time, Chinese executives are included in the top management team in Toyota China, including Dong Changzheng, executive deputy manager of Toyota's Chinese business and Lang Lixin, deputy general manager of Lexus China.
The Japanese carmaker will introduce 20 new models in China over the next three years to boost its business in the Chinese market, said Hiroji Onishi, a senior managing officer in charge of Toyota's China business.
Of the 20 new models, two small cars – a three-box sedan and a hatchback – will hit the Chinese market in the second half of 2013.
The three-box sedan will be built at Toyota's joint venture with China FAW Group Corp., while the hatchback will be made at Toyota's partnership with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co, Bloomberg News reported.
