USA Today - A year after all its recall troubles peaked, Toyota has regained its position as the world's most valuable auto brand, according to the BrandZ Top 100 report.
The value of Toyota's brand increased 11% to $24.2 billion, the BrandZ Top 100 annual ranking of the world's most valuable brands finds. Toyota surpasses BMW at $22.1 billion, which was tops last year.
In the report, which looks at top brands in every retail category, it is noted that Toyota's unintended acceleration crisis seemed to wash away with the government's finding that the reports couldn't be substantiated. It says that Toyota's comeback shows how strong backs can bounce back.
It doesn't appear, however, that the report was written after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, which has caused Toyota to reduce production -- and is likely to reduce sales.
