Gasgoo.com (Shanghai November 7) - Following news that Infiniti will not be halting exports to China, Toyota China officially denied rumors that it will cut its production volume in the country. According to a report appearing in the Beijing Times today, News Spokesman Niu Yu denied recent reports that Toyota will reduce its production volume in the country to 40 percent of its normal level, with that level not recovering until the latter half of 2013.

According to Mr. Niu, the manufacturer's Chinese joint ventures, FAW Toyota and Guangqi Toyota, are producing automobiles as normal. The two JVs will examine market conditions before making any decisions to modify their production volumes.

Japanese automobile manufacturers have seen their sales sharply decrease following rising tensions between China and Japan over confrontations regarding disputed territory in the East China Sea. Their combined passenger automobile sales in the country fell over 40 percent in September.
