Toyota eyes four door FT-86 sedan

According Australia’s Carsguide Toyota has set it’s eyes on a sedan model in the FT-86 line-up. The website reports that the sedan variant will look very much like the coupe that means it would pretty much be a stretched version of the 2-door model. Along with similar design cues, the sedan is also expected to be offered with the same drivetrain which would be the Subaru 2.0 liter Boxer and a 6-speed manual.

It was also also said that a Subaru 3.6 liter H6 could be offered along with a hybrid model. Apparently the sedan model will serve as a safety net should the coupe fail to accumulate success. The website also says the sedan could go on sale in 2013. Unfortunately we don’t have an official confirmation on this hence it would be safer to hear straight from the horse’s mouth.

Regarding the FT-86 coupe, as we have previously reported, it is scheduled to make it’s debut by November 2011. It is expected to priced at about 2.5 million yen in Japan. Pictured above is a rendering of an FT-86 sedan from Carsguide.
