Toyota to cooperate with Chinese steel manufacturer

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 4) - Japanese automobile giant Toyota announced that it will cooperate with Shangxi-based Taiyuan Iron and Steel Group (TISCO) to develop a new energy vehicle, www.chinanews.com reported earlier this week. Toyota would make use of TISCO's prominent position in the steel industry.

Sources within TISCO confirmed that they gave presentations to Toyota explaining the history and current production figures for, as well as advancements in silicon steel development. Toyota's technical development department said that TISCO's expertise in the field would be use for the new model.
