As robotaxis move into everyday life, hailing one is getting easier.
On Jan 14, the "WeRide Mobility" robotaxi ride-hailing mini program went live. Without downloading a separate app, users can simply search for the "WeRide Mobility" mini program in WeChat and, within operating zones such as Guangzhou and Beijing, summon a WeRide robotaxi with one tap to experience a comfortable, safe and convenient driverless ride.
From a standalone app to a WeChat mini program, WeRide is pushing to bring autonomous driving into daily life in more flexible, convenient ways. Leveraging WeChat’s massive user base and high-frequency usage, the WeRide Mobility mini program should sharply lower the threshold for trying robotaxis and build user recognition and trust in WeRide’s driverless technology.

WeRide is currently the only tech company whose products have secured autonomous driving permits in seven countries — China, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, France, Saudi Arabia, Belgium and the United States. Its Level 4 fleet tops 1,500 vehicles, including more than 700 robotaxis, and together with Uber it runs the largest commercial robotaxi fleet outside China and the United States in the Middle East. The company plans to deploy tens of thousands of robotaxis by 2030.
WeRide has chalked up several milestones in the global commercialization of Level 4 autonomy. In China, its robotaxis have launched fully driverless commercial operations in Guangzhou and Beijing, and now provide 24/7 autonomous service at transport hubs such as airports and railway stations. In core markets including the Middle East and Singapore, WeRide maintains at least an 18-month head start over peers; and in European countries such as France, Switzerland and Belgium, it is the only autonomous driving company to have commercially deployed an L4 fleet.
To encourage more people to try robotaxis, WeRide is also rolling out a slate of promotions, including the "Start the Year with WeRide, Good Luck Keeps Coming" New Year trial campaign, a "Ride-and-Refer" invitation program, and new-user perks.
