The latest generation of radar systems targets core vehicle safety functions, including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and Safe Exit Protection (SEP). Its technical performance has surged, with resolution reaching 50 times that of the previous generation. This capability supports various critical safety functions while enabling full-scenario features for advanced driving and automated parking. Valeo's radar system also supports "eyes-off" functionality, which automakers can unlock later via OTA remote upgrades.

Valeo’s radar platform is designed for maximum modularity. The North American automaker can flexibly customize hardware configurations without increasing complexity, covering full-scenario driving and parking functions from entry-level to Level 3 intelligent driving. On the compliance front, the radar suite meets regulatory requirements across global regions, helping vehicles secure 5-star NCAP safety ratings and comply with EU General Safety Regulation (GSR) standards. Meanwhile, OTA upgrade capabilities facilitate continuous feature iteration.

By combining extreme sensitivity, high-performance computing, and integrated artificial intelligence, Valeo's radar series redefines vehicle perception. It offers both front and corner radar products, capable of reliable detection of small objects in both near- and far-range scenarios.

The front radar boasts a detection range of up to 250 meters, ensuring reliable object detection and safe navigation even at high speeds. The technology employs advanced anti-interference and waveguide antenna technologies to ensure optimal performance in challenging environments such as tunnels or adverse weather. Additionally, the high-performance computing architecture supports deep learning-based fusion, enabling these vehicles to adapt to future central AI software stacks.

Beyond front-facing safety protection, Valeo's corner radar sensors create a 360-degree "safety cocoon" for the vehicle. They support Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and advanced parking functions, ensuring safe operation for autonomous vehicles in narrow, low-speed scenarios. During lane changes, the system actively assists the driver through visual, auditory, or haptic warnings, and can even execute fully automatic lane changes. When reversing out of a parking space, the rear cross-traffic warning system uses sensors to promptly alert the driver to approaching traffic, further enhancing driving safety.
