Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 11) - Rumors have surfaced that Hu Bo, marketing director for Volkswagen Group China, may be moved over to Land Rover China to assume the role of company vice president, auto.163.com reported yesterday. Land Rover China confirmed that it had heard such news, but said that the company had still not announced its final decision, while VW China denied any such news.

Industry insiders believe that what Jaguar Land Rover China's senior management circle lacks is a person who understands the Chinese market and sales. According to speculation, Land Rover would take advantage of Mr. Hu's achievements in managing import sales for VW.

Jaguar Land Rover opened up a sales company in China last year, which has already entered operational stage. Meanwhile the company has also opened its first Chinese training center situated in Pudong, Shanghai's Jinqiao district.

Land Rover's annual global sales increased 25 percent last year, with China being the British marque's third largest market.
